Based on what you've told me, I believe that Aoenas has been taken by the crusade. If they have him, he's almost certainly being held in the Cathedral, likely being questioned by the high inquisitor, Whitemane. I can't imagine she'd approve of consorting with demons, I can't be certain how much she even knows of these matters.
