Privacy policy

Watefu Forever is a fan-made site for World of Warcraft: Forever, run as a hobby project and hosted on our own server. It is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.

lang and region: remember your language and region (1 year).

wf_session: keeps you logged in after a Battle.net login (at most about 24 hours). It only contains a random id.

wf_oauth: protects the Battle.net login against forgery (10 minutes, only during login).

Logging in is optional. You enter your password on Blizzard's site, never on ours. We ask Blizzard only for read-only access to your World of Warcraft profile (the wow.profile permission).

We store your Battle.net account id, your BattleTag and Blizzard's access token on our server, only for as long as the token is valid (about 24 hours). Logging out deletes them immediately.

Character, guild, item and auction-house data comes from Blizzard's public API. Characters and guilds the site discovers appear on the leaderboards with their public in-game information (name, level, class, guild, statistics). We keep auction prices over time to draw price charts; they contain no personal data.

Like most websites, our server and reverse proxy keep technical logs (IP address, page, time) to keep the site running and secure.

The site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners can use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Quebec), you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time from the privacy message.

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Logging out already removes your login data. We don't sell personal information.
